VUA Summer School SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND WATER MANAGEMENT
The International Summer School SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND WATER MANAGEMENT organized by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA), Slovakia in cooperation with the University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), Germany was held in the period of 23.6. – 6.7. 2014.
The third year of the successful summer school offered lectures concentrating on the issues of sustainable development, water sources management and Danube development strategies provided by international experts in parallel sessions in English and Russian as well as interesting programme where the participating students has a chance to learn more about the Danube river and visit three capital cities in the heart of Europe (Bratislava, Vienna and Prague). Students coming from the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Kazakhstan and Slovakia presented their home countries through national habits, food, songs and dance during the Visegrad evening. Group presentations of seminar works took place at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences and the Visegrad Prize for the best group was awarded by the VUA President, Prof. Peter Bielik.
All 25 participants from 6 countries representing 5 VUA partner universities earned their certificates that were presented by the Rectors of HAW and SUA, Prof. Jacqueline Otten and Prof. Peter Bielik.
We would also like to thank all the participating teachers from Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia as well all those who contributed to the organization of the Summer School.
